just wanted some opinions on a motherboard and cpu swap out.
Current system is a Supermicro x58 Server motherboard (not overclockable)
with 12gb ddr3 1333 and an nvdia gt210. The board is USB2, SATA2.
The PCI Express slot has 16x with a 8x slot in line. This I imagine would usually be in a rack case with a PCIE riser. This means that to crow bar a GPU in you have to get a hacksaw to the retention clip
I have just purchased a second hand quadro for use with autocad and revit, but I thought it would be shame to get the hacksaw to this as well..
So , I already have the case, drives, ssd, Quadro GPU, and 16gb DDR3 in a drawer. Would the below be a worthwhile cheapish upgrade.
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £223.48
(includes shipping: £10.50)
