Hello, im really struggling with this.
I have HP and Dell laptops connected to a HP and Dell Docking stations that both have 2-off DVI sockets.
I have 2 -off 4k 32" monitors that both have 1-off DVI and 3off HDMI connectors.
I've heard of horror stories regarding kvm that rearrange the screens content when you swap from dock to dock.
I've heard that EDID and HDCP signal emulation solve this problem but im struggling finding anything that looks to work.
Does anyone have any recommendations or help please?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Warren.

This is a minefield. Actually getting the laptops to switch between the displays is a challenge in itself, nevermind the screens re-arranging.
A KVM solution will not be cheap, unless you use a KVM just for the keyboard and mouse (or a logitach Craft & MX Master combo) and switch the monitors from the input selection. If going down the full KVM solution, you need to avoid any that only do 4K at 30Hz.
Not sure why you have DVI on a 32" 4k screen, that seems odd. Do you not have DisplayPort?
You might want to do some research on the level1techs forums.

Sorry, I'm an idiot! I wondered what you were talking about dvi! Yes you are correct, I have display port on everything and not dvi

I entered a similar minefield last year.
Trying to get something to handle a high enough bitrate that my primary monitor wouldn't be capped below my desired resolution and refresh rate was going to cost around 500 quid, plus imports fees.

I slowly backed towards thee door then ran like hell.

I'm using the input switch on the monitors, and a 30 quid usb3 hub switch thing from amazon.

Tiptop

so just to expand a little.
Laptop 1 - Dell 7510 - Docking station Dell e-prt-pls 2-off DP++ 2-off DVI
Laptop 2 - HP G6 - Docking station HP thunderbolt dock G2 HSN-IX01 L25642-001 2-off DP++
Monitors 2-off - eiQ-32MCV4KVAFSHDR - 1-off DP 1.2 - 1-off HDMI 2.0 - 2-off HDMI 1.4

so what if I connect dell doc to mon DP and HP doc to Mon HDMI (but will need DP to HDMI cable.
then I would have to use the switches on the monitor to change imput (that maybe a pain). Also mouse, keyboard plus space mouse via switch? a DAC option would be nice :-)

I have a script to switch the monitor inputs via DDC/CI depending on if it can see my keyboard attached or not. sounds interesting. Maybe an issue that I don't have install rights on the HP
