KVM over lan?

does this exsist? i asked it before like a year or two ago and closest thing is synergy which is only KM.

Is there an important difference in this application between remote control software and what you're thinking of?

Yes its called IPMI and generally can be found on server class motherboards or added via pci card.

Supermicro motherboard tend to have it and I have their atom motherboard that has it and it works fairly well:

If you just want to use a PC over the network or over the internet like a KVM you could try www.logmein.com its like remote desktop but you have full control over the PC you connect to. Its free but the paid version will even let you use and relay sound. Very secure with passwords to login to you account and passwords for each PC/laptop you want to connect to. I use it a lot. Use the PC as if you was sat at it.

Yes they do, have a look around for things called KVM Extenders.

We use an adderview here at work, to run a public exhibit via touchscreen (could be anything usb like keyboard and mouse) around about 75 meters from the computer.

think your after kvm over ip there a fair bit iv been trying to move all my pc's to the acctic and have kvm access to them im sorted on the video side but need something for the km over the network I use "just add power" to send the video feed

VNC not good enough in this scenario? Or do you want access to the hardware KVM - like IPMI/iLO/LightsOut/DRAC stuff?
