Been looking to source a KVM type switch box that allows 1 computer VGA output to be mechanically switched between 2 monitors & not having much luck.

Just to clarify..... Before anyone suggests a dual display setup type thing

The setup is in a business - with one monitor in one room - and the other in another room. When a user is working the computer in the back room - as a safety precaution, the front monitor needs to be physically switched off using a button/switch unit (to totally disconnect the output to the front monitor) - I know this can be done as I have seen units in action before (but the switch boxes were custom made where the VGA pin-outs were soldered to the switch in a metal enclosure)

Just wondering if there was either a powered/non-powered KVM type thing to support this.

Does it need the keyboard and mouse also? Just look for a completely passive VGA switching box. You may need to use gender changers, but probably not. They do exist.

No doesn't really need the Keyboard / Mouse parts - but if they are there, it doesn't matter - they will just not be used.

I have searched the usual electronics websites - but just keep getting 1 Monitor to 2 PCs. Virtually everywhere is like that - and even google is still not giving me any results.

If its a basic mechanical switch only, I am pretty sure it does not matter. It should switch all the pins over, so it should work. If not, you can always DSR it!

The "MHP 2 Way Manual VGA Switch 15pin Female Connectors Switchbox - 2 Inputs To 1 Output Or 2 Outputs with 1 Input
" which was the first google shopping link will be perfect for you. It even says, 1 in, 2 out, or 2 in, 1 out.
