Hi there,

I need a 2-port KVM switch that is compatible with a PC and a Mac G5. I've read some pretty bad reviews of the Belkin jobbies, and some good reviews for some of the Startech models. I've got my eye on *Do not link to competitors!*

I guess I'm after a USB model, not a PS/2 as Macs only have USB ports for keyboards.

Anyone have any similar experience?

Dude,

In your OP i would remove the link. Dont want the banhammer or anything :)

Do modern KVM's lag like an old belkin(i think?) one i had for a while did? was horrible when playing CSS

Ah, you'd certinaly have noticed if it was as bad as the KVM i had. I can't understand why it did it - after all its just some extra wire right? anyway :)

I'm sorry to revive an old threat but I'm frustrated at not being able to find a simple USB keyboard and mouse switch I can use for a Mac and a PC. Its a KVM I need but without the video component. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The few I have found have been badly reviewed or its not clear if they are compatible on both macs and pcs. I understand you cant link me elsewhere, but just naming a few devices would help. Cheers

StarTech.com 2 Port Mini USB KVM is what ive been looking at. Anyone know a cheaper alternative (perhaps without the VGA bit?) and can anyone tell me about their experiences sharing monitor and keyboards
