hi all just wandering re kvm switches, ok all I need is mouse and keyboard as I have 2 monitors don't ( need the vga part ), but my problem is that I have a mechanical keyboard that uses 2 usb 3 connections, and all the kvms that I have seen so far only have 2 usb 2 ports one for mouse one for key board, so does anyone know of a kvm that would suit me, any help would be appreciated.

oh the fun you are going to have with a kvm lol.

first off lets look at the keyboard, i am guessing here but i think it has 2 usb
connections because i will be for the keyboard and one for pass through ports
on the side/back.

my last aten had 3 usb ports on it, 1 x mouse, 1 x keyboard and 1 for anything else
so you could plug the keyboard and mouse in and the pass through into the other
port thus sharing peripherals that are plugged into the keyboard.

the aten was solid and reliable and allowed gaming boards and mice to be used.

it was a CS1782A

The CS1782A USB DVI Dual Link KVMP™ Switch charts a revolutionary direction in KVM switch functionality. It combines the capabilities of a 2-port KVM switch with a 2-Port USB hub, while providing a DVI monitor interface and audio support. Moreover it carries advanced features, such as nVidia 3D Vision ready 120Hz 3D display support, gaming keyboard compatibility and port selection/switching using a mouse, aimed at giving you flexibility, convenience and enjoyment.

My 2 port KVM is switching for 5 devices.....
(My monitor has a 4 port USB hub built in and the hub connects to the KVM) then a spare for device 5.

Any of your monitors have a hub?

I gave up on the idea many years ago because of the lack of usbs 3.0 with kvms, decided to use usb extensions cables, tied them together and just unplug and replug when needing to switch from one machine to the other and setting up a quick profile on my Dell monitors.
