my exhaust is a little rattly and i think i am due for for oil change etc. i put it into some local boys who do cash in hand for a new cat, they did the head gasket when that went too. When i got it back from the new cat the exhaust was a we bit rattly ( is that a word? )
in my mind it never hurts to get someone else to give it a once over every now and again, plus somtimes i think hes trying to rip me off... but i get that with all mechanics tho!? i know i am bad

do you think i should put in in for a service? and the original question are kwick fit any good. ? looking for maximum checks and oil change, filters etc.
under a £100 would be most excellent. its just passed its mot but its not hand an oil change since the head was done in DEC so i would really like to get the old stuff out.

also i have noticed that my back passenger side wheel arch has started to get really quite rusty ( it the only bit on the car, such a shame ) i want it to look good again. how do i go about doing this?

i am pritty much a car newbie but i am interested to learn, living in a flat parked outside a busy street so the kinda rules out the DIY approach i would prefer to go in ( even if i was stumbling in the dark )

o yeah its a Rover 214i :) almost forgot that..thanks!

Kwik-Fit are okay if you're in a hurry but can be a bit pricy and pushy, trying to sell you credit or spotting things they think need doing. Like fixed price servicing - okay until something out the ordinary needs doing.

I took my old Sierra for their "free" brake test a few years ago and ended up with >£200 worth of reps. Fair enough, the work needed doing but I could probably have got it done for much less at an indie garage.

I also hate the endless sitting around waiting for them to start work on your car, if it's busy. Worse than the dentist!
