Right after completing 50k thames path challenge in 11hrs, I've now signed up for L2B 100km walk.
Has anyone done this and how to go from 50km train ing ipto 100km. Were talking about a lot of time just walking, when training.
Obviusly im going to have to start doing back to back walks. Like 25miles two days in a row.
For those who have done it what you recomend to do in training, would you do say a 80km walk in training or what.
Got a fair time to prepare, its not till end of may.

In one day?? Mental!

I done the 4 day marches - http://www.4daagse.nl/en/

And it was hell, 25 miles a day. I was stupid though, done one training day and was so bored I never done anymore. I had shin splints, thought my feet were going to fall off. But I did go to the med centre and get them to tape my feet up. Not one blister, magic.

We had to take a friend to the hospital when we got back to the UK to get his skin taken off his feet though.

So erm yeah good luck, it was all mind over matter though. The Dutch done it right though, they just got drunk and they seemed fine. So yeah get drunk.

I already commented in the other thread, but just to add, I don't think you need to go much above 60-70k in a day beforehand from what I've read. If you can do more then that probably puts you in a better position but its not really essential. The B2B walks are what really build the legs.

Do you know whose running the event you're doing? The L2B 100km trek I signed up for was in June.

Its action challenge, http://www.london2brightonchallenge.com/

And yes in one day, I want a sub 24hr time(tahts what everyone seems to aim for), although its 33hr max.

Its just a bit annoyin g found loads of training plans and discusions for 50km, but none for 100km, other than ultra marathon. But running train in g is very different from walking training.

Oh and that four day marc h looks in teresting, will save that page, maybe another year.

You really should do it, the crowd is awesome. People out at 4 in the morning handing you sandwhiches, biscuits. Kids asking for your autograph etc. Girls (stunning) with free cuddles signs, or kisses. Parties everywhere, live bands on the streets everynight. I have never experienced anything like it, it really is one of the best things I've ever done.
