I have just recieved this chip and i was wondering if anyone has this chip and what it will clock to.

I have run coretemp in vista and according to core temp it has a 1.2375 VID

What sort of overclock do u thinmk ill be able to achieve on a asus 750i Mobo and would it be worth me upgrading to a 790i and ddr3 ram when i can afford it to achieve better clocks

VID is not the be all and end all. But as a reference, the Q6600 in my sig had a slightly lower VID than yours, I used phase mind. But, you should still be looking to achieve 3.6ghz with decent cooling.

And no, mobo upgrade is not worth it.

thanks matey. Ive managed to aquire some ddr3 ram so the mobo upgrade will be worth it. The chip will be under waters

hmmm 3GHz? personally i'd go for a mobo with an Intel chipset

good luck clocking that quad core then, SLi lol nae point to that or crossfire even, but thats just my opinion.
