1. I'm alone, in the house, playing this for the first time. Spend 90mins playing it, only to realise that the lights weren't on and it got very dark!

2. My black cat decided to jump onto my desk (still in the dark) at the precise moment I encountered my first tank - brown pants time.

3. I now have to take my garbage out to the bins, which oddly is in an area that looks very like most of L3D :( It may be a coincidence, but the outside light is flickering off and on!

Does mustard give courage? :D

I feel like I could take a zombie apocolypse in my sleep now I have played L4D, especially if they were the traditional slow shunty kind of zombies instead of the more modern running zombies.

As long as you have a closet, 3 friends and the stamina to keep throwing your arms out in the air like retards chasing something shiny then yeah, zombie apocalypse averted.

I just can't get over how FAST they all are, it's not even fair. I'm calling zombie bull*** on that, you know?

Starting to sound like every cheap slasher movie going. Or maybe cats really do do that at the most inconvenient time? :)

^^^^ lol :p i get a bit paranoid after a long session espically at night, if i have to go outside for a cig, there's always a small part of my brain thinking "hummm a hunter could pounce on me here"

Yeah. L4D isn't scary anymore for me. I used to get freaked out playing games like doom3, F.E.A.R, Bioshock and deadspace, but after playing L4D since nov i just walked through them all without even blinking which is bad really.

L4D was never scary, which is a big let down for me... from that first go on the MP beta it was clearly just Serious Sam with zombies, fun, but there are only so many times you can run through a campaign and so many times you can watch people employ boring / lame tactics in versus that you yourself then have to repeat because its the only way to play.

For a game where the developers prided themselves on no two games ever playing the same they have managed to balance it in a way that it doesn't even matter what map your playing or if you have even seen it before, you will be in a corner / in a closet spamming melee.

I think it's the team element that stops it from being scary. With VOIP and a team backing you up, plus the general zerg of zombies everywhere rather than quiet sections with dramatic lighting, it doesn't really have the elements of a horror game.

That said, I do find it quite scary when I open a door or something and get pounced immediately, plus there are a few moments that can make you jump, but it doesn't happen often.

Also, if you play solo, or you are the last one alive, it can be a bit scarier :]

I think a nice feature would be a limited flashlight, i.e. battery goes down after a minute or so - like Half Life 2 did.
