Hi there

I normally get 60fps with Win XP playing at 1920 x 1080 with all settings on full but with Windows 7 RC I get around 10fps! What is going on anybody know? Even with dual core disabled it does not help and also the AA doesn't seem to work as I can see jaggies all over even though I have Edge Detect AA x 8 and all other settings on full.

Thanks

Michael

Yep, 9.6. Thing is, even 2 months ago it happened this is why I went back to XP. At least then when I turned off dual core I got 60fps but the jaggies were still there. It is like AA don't work with this game on Windows 7. I need somebody who is actually playing this game on Windows 7 to give me some info ;- )

Have to say that it works perfectly for me as well (apart from a couple of crashes here and there, but I think that may be a cooling issue!)

Only things I can suggest are apart from a re-install maybe disabling AA and other bits in game and turning them on inside Windows?

I'm running Nvidia hardware (an old 9800GX2) with a new SSD with W7 installed. I downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia after installing the OS, and in fact not only L4D has worked, but I've been impressed with the performance and stability of all my other games also.

Sorry I can't offer more help, as I said, it just worked for me straight after installing.

W7 has all the latest OS updates, as well as my computers hardware.

Seems if I turn edge detect off in the CCC but still use 8xAA from in game settings I get normal fps of 60. But as soon as I turn on edge detect I get 10-15fps.

Never did this with XP

It's driver issue, not an OS issue :)

To be fair, it's a beta OS, so we can't whinge at ATI yet ;)
