L4D2 disconnects almost immediately joining

Anyone else seen this problem whereby in some games you connect and then 5-10s after joining L4D2 disconnects you to the game lobby?

Yep I get it 99% of the time myself and it clicks my ****ty BT router to reset , had it four times in a row last night and gave up , 1% of the time it runs well .

search for "TF2 connection" in posts by RobH for the fix - it's an issue on some routers with the source engine that's easily fixed by telnetting in

What router are you using? I had all sorts of problems connecting online with games like L4D and TF2, until I found out it was the latest firmware of my Netgear DG834 that was the cause. Rolled back to a previous version and all is fine now.

Its a BT home hub .

This seemed to work for me last night so thanks uv/RobH.

Bald-Eage22 - I believe the BT home hubs are rebadged Speedtouch/Thompson devices so you should definitely check the fix in case it works for you as I have a Bebox built off the same hardware.

I'm convinced this is my issue as well since I use a bebox too. I haven't been able to play Left 4 Dead 1 since I got it pretty much.

What firmware version are you on? The fix hasn't worked for me

UPDATE: Actually, this seems to have worked after trying it again. Fingers crossed.
