L629B E6600

Well I think I've struck gold with this little beauty !

Just installed it this minute, and already have her running @ 3.6Ghz @ only 1.4v (Bios) 1.33v (windows load)

Temps are only 31/32c Idle and 50c under Orthos load.

Orthos is running @ 5 minutes ok sofar I'll see how it goes :D

The box says 1.35v max as on all the boxes i've seen, but the funny thing is in the bios this time my DS3 states the Stock voltage to be 1.225 as opposed to the normal 1.325~

and still going, I think it will do it with lower volts too, just set it to 1.4v in the bios to test :D

hmmmm.....

btw as i posted above, is the higher number better like is L630b better than a L629b? or is it worse

Tbh from 'my' experience its pretty much pot luck.

However there do tend to be certain batches that are better than others but its not gaurenteed.

The earlier chips are generally regarded as the better clockers pre 30/32 FPO's

Also the 'B' batches seem to have greater success, but I'm still sceptical whether it makes much difference or whether its just sheer luck as I say.

Cant really say where its from as its against forum Regs sorry.

Its not from a forum or from a store selling specific ones tho, I've been trying quite a few different chips lately to see if i can find a real gem.

Mine is stepping B as well, but i chcuked the box away so i dunno the number. Is there any way I can find out?

Only places the number is, is on the sticker on the side of the box and ontop of the chip itself :)
