Lack of Freesync information

Why is such a mystery on some monitors and adverts?

They vary from flat out not even mentioning freesync in the spec list, to just saying 'freesync' in the advert with no information of the freesync range etc.

Why the secrecy or lack of promotion, surely it is only a good thing so why not provide the relevant information? I'm not particularly interested in buying one but when I'm browsing monitors I just find it very odd.

There's really wierd things too, like Acer XR341CK has a much wider freesync range than the Acer XR342CK which replaced it, like 20+ Hz, downwards. One reason why the info probably isn't out there to easily get, that and most folks don't care too much. They just want <insert size here> monitor at cheapest price.
