Lack of PC Demos

why give someone a chance to hate your game ?

its a sales thing and thats all.

Brand loyalty, which wouldn't show up in sales data for a single game. I've played games SO bad that were promised as soo good, that I've gone entirely off the company completely and don't wish to give them more money in the future. If they had a demo, I played it, I didn't like it, but they were being honest about it and I didn't waste my money on their POS game, I might buy their next two titles which are good games for which the demos convinced me to buy and because I haven't had a previously poor experience from the company which turned me away from trying them again.

Screwing your customers to get high sales for one title..... will have a negative effect on that studio's sales in the future, and its basically impossible to quantify.

If you're one of the people who have to have games on day one, there's so many preview videos online nowadays, especially like the WTF Is... videos by Total Biscuit, that give you a good look at the gameplay.

If you're not worried about getting the game on day one, then forums and users videos are the best source of info, and if you're one to wait for Steam sales, you'll save a lot, and maybe even have a few quid spare to try out some new games you wouldn't otherwise have tried.

I've just seen the WTF Is... Doorkickers video, and the game itself looks like it could be quite good fun, something to while away a few hours when I'm in a hotel room, so I will now probably buy it - I wouldn't have heard about it or seen it if it wasn't for the Total Biscuit video.

download the Demo first though I did it's a decent game & the demo is quite generous with what it lets you play.
