i recently had my laptop repaired after the motherboard had burnt out, Acer kindly repaired the damage as i was insured. now the problem i am having is the laptop is picking up a low wireless signal from my BT home hub. i getting only 3 bars when right next to it and when i move away above 5 metres away from the hub it disconnects

before my laptop was faulty i could go anywhere in the house and i would get a wicked signal. i phoned up BT and they cannot find any fault and they to are clueless.

is there a chance that the repair of the laptop wasnt carried out correctly i tried everything and cannot find any faults could it be the wireless card although its reporting no problems

where m i going wrong ?

It's possible they didn't connect the aerials for the wireless card. You wouldn't see any errors reported and the range would be dire.

You really don't need to bump your thread twice in less than 24 hours. If nothing else it's generally considered rude.

yea like he sed its the arial connectors for the little wire that runs around the laptop .....under neither your laptop will be an access panel to the mini pci wireless card , u will be able to see the connectors ..... there's 2, makes no difference if there on wrong way round .... if they look fine ....then its due to they have cort the arial while putting the laptop bk together .... i recommend getting the manual on how to strip it if u wish to open it up ...
or u can simply buy a wireless card to slot in the side ..plus u get better range with that..
and just take the wireless mini pci card out and sell it on ebay :) ...

open the access panel check areal leads are connected ,, if they are the card its self has been damaged i recommend a new wirless usb or the card that slots inside
