Hate to create another thread so all forgive me but I need to get this off my chest. Why is the side content lacking in GTA. The safehouses are lacking. I've finished the game now with 1.2 million with frankly nothing at all to do with it, Niko is supposed to have made it big or whatever and I still have 2 crappy townhouses at least with San Andreas you got a Casino and other stuff which made you feel your character had actually made it "big"

The clothes in the game frankly suck. Barely any decent helicopters to mess about in same for hidden vehicles and the only heli requires you hunting round the city for ****ing pigeons to unlock it!

This is what annoys me. A great story but with the lack of substantial after story stuff and side story to do really puts a downer on it for me. I did actually expect more.

Does anyone feel they possibly purposely left stuff out to release as DLC later on?

I agree... I just finished it and.... I hope for moar!!

Give me more content. Because the MP getting boring, I may never touch this game again till the DLC is released :/

I'm doing Stevies missions then after that I may sell it. Not much more I can do. I miss prating about with a jet pack :(

Going back to this thing on DLC stuff. You may notice when you drive around in West Dyke with some of the houses there the garages will open but you obviously can't go in etc.

I have a gut feeling rockstar may release more safehouse unlockables or something along with a vehicle pack or something. Just a hunch you never know?

What do you reckon?

Possibly but remember that this game engine could well be used for another couple of full releases and so they have to save something for those versions.

Or maybe the 360's DVD is limiting what they can include?

I don't get why people keep saying they have nothing to do with their money in GTA  have you ever had anything to do with your money in GTA games? Other than buy property or get a hair cut I mean.

That is the main thing I miss from the game - I went on a mass pigeon massacre last night (got 25 of the blighters!;) ) and it would have been so much easier and more fun with the jet pack. It feels to me like they looked at GTA III and worked on improving that rather than moving forward from San Andreas. Maybe they will add more stuff in the next one?

As I've said in other threads, the side missions seem more integrated in the main plot.

Doing 100 "tags" in SA got a bit tedious but at least you got a nice reward with the weapons. I still revisited the house in Ganton to stock up on Molotovs etc. even once based in SF & LV. 200 flying rats for a helicopter doesn't really have much appeal.

The only problem with SA is that some of the side missions appeared too late (like the races or quarry) when all you wanted to do was finish the main plot. Maybe it's just me, but in the three times I've played through SA, I've lost interest in doing the side missions once the main plot is finished. Kind of feel, what's the point?

So if there is DLC for IV it's got to be in the context of offering an extension to the main story, not just random side missions.

As regards money, I'm about 30% in (just started the Packie & Francis missions) but only have about $25k. With grenades or molotovs costing something like $700 each I can't say there's nothing to spend money on and still have to watch the pennies.

As posted in other threads, the lack of safehouses is frustrating. I really don't want to spend 15 mins travelling to the gun shop to arm up (or Little Jacob), back to safe house to save, then travel to mission brief location then to the actual mission start point!

i think rockstar are going to release a shed load of goodies included with the DLC, im not bothered about more missions just more stuff to mess about with and to buy!

i hope they release parachutes!

'But I dont care about dlc gta is and always will be a playstation game'

Its only roman that wants the money side of things, Niko came for revenge.

Wrong, Niko came back to live the American dream, he didn't even come over for revenge he never knew about his old friends being in liberty city, he came back on the thoughts that roman was rich, and had all these flash apartments, with hot women, he was lied to.

Did you not pay attention?

??? uhh sarcasm? im only 30% in but from what Niko has been saying so far he came to Liberty City to find some ex-soldier guys he wanted to get revenge on.
Does he laugh and say later on that he was only winding Roman up with that "revenge" story? :)

He wasn't being sarcastic, re-read his post.

But after you kill vlad and roman is all worried, niko admits to him that he came here because he was looking for someone. In a lot of the missions he asks for a favour i.e. to help him find someone.

We are all looking for that special someone.

Also after killing the traitor at the airport all niko bangs on about is how he was just fueled by revenge but now he killed him his life feels empty as revenge was all he wanted.

Mixture of both then, ill settle for that :P

I think the problem is that people were expecting a rags to riches type story of previous GTAs, some time before release it was described as rags to slightly better rags, and that's what it is.

It feels like GTA 3 did once you completed it.

The next one will, I'm sure, will have more stuff in it like VC and SA did.

That's it, right there.

Just like GTA III, I think GTA IV will fall in to semi obscurity when its flashier 'sequels' come out. This is a shame as Niko is quite a decent character, and deserves to be remembered. But it's sound business practice I suppose. After all, never give the customer everything at once... Especially when easy 'thought-free' micro transactions are possible.

To me GTA IV is like The Sims 2, before you buy all the expansion packs. Only with more killing. :D
