'Lad Mags Bags'

As we know this will definitely work. Women in many Middle Eastern countries cover themselves completely and as we all know as a result those countries have an excellent record on women's rights...

....oh wait.

I get why they decided to cover up the top shelf mags as they were too far IMO but the lads mags I don't get for reasons already said above, namely - if they are going to cover up nuts, zoo, fhm et al are they also going to covers up mags like mens health, or how about the body builder mags? Also with the weather being as warm as has been, you see worse walking round town than the covers of those mags.

This does not bother me however the coop should apply the same rules across the board which includes women's mags.

The BBC have managed to find a semi literate model to discuss the issue with a campaigner on the news. I just can't help but feel that feminists can't see the woods for the trees a lot of the time. They think it is some sort of drug that certain men take which turns them into sexist *****. Its not, its just the fact that men of a certain personality read those magazines. They wouldn't change one iota if you removed Nuts and Zoo from the shelves.

I was sitting on a train with a bunch of Tottenham fans the other day and I swear they barely had a braincell between them. They were loud, obnoxious, rude and not a single thing they said had any wit but they thought they were the nuts. Really funny. I asked them where they were heading as we got off the train and they said the match with colchester. One of them then comes out with the comedy gold of "party round your place mate". Then another 2 minutes of them shouting that at me as we walk down the platform. Low intelligence, no wit and just generally horrible characters in a group.

On the way back I came across another group where one guy thought he was hilarious and entertaining everyone on the train with his slightly racist and loud impressions of an aussie and a train conductor. He made the same joke at least 30 times in the hour I was on the train (no lie) and when the poor people opposite him got off at their stop he apologised as if he had made a mistake. I wanted to smack the guy. He wasn't sorry in the slightest, he did the classic "I'm not annoying you with my witty banter because if I am you are a boring person" and the girls said "no, its was funny". Yeah, funny in the way that you didn't laugh and avoided looking at them the whole journey. Im sure you were laughing on the inside girls.

My point is that people who are grade A ***** are not like that because of lads mags, they are like that because they are *****. The lads mags just make them think that they are really funny and entertaining and full of banter but surprise surprise, they didn't change overnight they developed like that over years.

Its the culture of guys and girls going out on the pull the whole time. Getting drunk to the point of hurting themselves and revelling in the fact they managed to drink x number of pints. Women going out dressed in little more than underwear then complaining that men are hitting on them.

The way I look at it is that there is a split in the population. There are men and women who are as bad as each other and they are nasty, abusive and generally inconsiderate *****. Men just don't whinge about the idiotic women whereas women seem to think its all men that cause the trouble and that its a quick fix away.

I'd rather see the curvy/healthy women in most lads mags than the emaciated waifs you see in lots of womens magazines ;)

gtfo and stop talking sense.

Also what I find quite ironic is in my local M&S for example you have to walk through the womens underwear section to reach the food section. This is the same womans underwear section which has full-size images of women in their dainties, something you will find in many stores which sell women's underwear. So being forced to see this is acceptable but a small magazine cover isn't?

One is modelling clothing, the other is modelling her bits. ;)

Mag industry already struggling nothing like a bit of help from PC government zealots to finish them off.

If PC zealots had their way, everything would be grey and bland. No one allowed to show any skin and no one allowed to use bright colours. It will be like a communist Saudi Arabia, a mix between east germany and shria law.

Eurgh. More of this one-size-fits all censorship nonsense. Just stick them on the upper shelves where kids can't reach them, if that's what they're after. They'll probably get sued by midgets, though. The lad's mag advocater on Sky News this morning was a bit, how shall we say, "hyper". Talking 20-to-the-dozen and repeatedly using the word, "Feminist!".

I don't see an issue with it to be honest, I think they should be covered up to some extent.

I also think that for some of the fitness magazines but most of them aren't overly sexualised and are show a lot less, where as the lads mags defiantly try not to leave anything up to the imagination. Plus the people buying those type of magazine's know what they are buying so surely don't need everything on display when making the purchase. It's only for the male window shoppers who look around the magazine section while waiting for their other half to shop around.

This will also help that lad-mag companies make ever more of a tease with the front cover which anyone over 16 or so would probably pay more attention to :p

"When I was a lad............. "

These magazines have almost become soft porn mags, I really don't see the issue in having them covered, the magazines are ridiculously slutty. Frankly, some of you need to get out and start living life instead of endlessly masturbating if you think it's an issue to have them covered up. Oh my god.... David's taking my porn away..." (and other drivel).

Love and Hugs ;-)

When my manager told us we had to put these up last week I had a good chuckle and then thought "oh.. he's serious?!"

In 3 and a half years we've had one uppity woman complain about these types of magazine. Don't agree with it myself, think it's a bit ott.
