Abru is a good make, every tradesman appears to go for that one.

A ladder for a loft isn't overly demanding tbh.
A good stepladder is more useful I think.

Speaking from experience,I found a combination ladder awkward to use for the loft, carrying it upstairs the worse aspect, as mine (not a Lyte) has a stabiliser which is a little wider than the ladder.

I presently use a pair of steps, did buy a loft ladder to fit, but my accident last year has put all my projects on hold.:(

A good combination ladder is the Lyte-Combination-Ladder-CL6,or CL7, depending what height you need, both are trade rated & steps always go for trade rated ones, much firmer, don't flex.

Can't really beat a fitting loft ladder but we don't have space for one as the cold water tank is in the way :( We have a telescopic ladder that folds down pretty small :)

That's what I was thinking too but it seems the straight extension ladders are the most expensive! Steps to the loft won't fit unfortunately and hopefully the ladder I find gives the benefit of using it as a way to reach the top of walls during painting the house too, killing two birds with one stone.

For painting a platform works wonders. You'll need a self standing ladder to paint walls tbh you don't want one leaning on the walls :)
