We are using a BT Home Hub 2.0 but every time playing online games on xbox always get lag and I'm the only one who gets the lag in the game. When two xboxs are on at the same time it's even more laggey.

How can I fix this, It's pi sing me of.

Here is the speedtest and ping test.

Well, just out of interest I ran those tests on our connection as it is awful for gaming.

results:

What causes our lag I dont know.

It should be noted that pingtest uses a close/fast server for ping testing, which might modify the results a bit.

For example I get 70ms on pingtest, but my ingame ping is usually around 200ms for most games.

120ms is a bit high for an FPS. :/ Bad luck I guess.

I get ~80-90 on UT2004 but the server I play on has a ping compensator so it feels like 0ms. I wonder why MW2 doesn't have anything like that (or does it?)

MW2 uses lag compensation - if it didn't it would be even more hideously unplayable.

There was me bitching coz I have 20ms ping due to BT screwing up :S (normally have 7-8ms) but they've decided to route me all around the country.

Get interleaving turned off on the connection if its enabled and if your seriously gaming ditch the wireless as it can be the cause of lag too - tho for me its only added 2ms to my ping and 1ms extra jitter so nothing at all - but if you have a lot of overlapping wireless networks or just a lot of interference it will lag badly.

Oh and you could try modifying your router settings to disable Nagling etc, although I'm not sure if this is unique to PCs.

Disabling nagling reduced my max speed from 600 KB/s to about 350 KB/s but improved my ping from 120 to 70.

It seem OK again now. But every so often it will go back to bad lag for a few hours.
Crap BT -_-

He are new test any way:

I don't get any of this crap, got a a rating now..

If im been honest, you need to consider the router your using. In my personal experience the home hubs are utter crap and really are no good. There is a reason they are free ;).

THe home hub i think uses bad chipsets to handle the wireless and broadband connection and when playing realtime games it cant handle it simple. Web browsing you wouldn't notice it as its not realtime but i also bet should you use voip a lot it would sound awful too.

Changing out your router for one of the new ones we've got on offer on OcUK would make a world of difference i bet.

While i agree BT are not the best and i used to be on them and get crappy pings etc, i fund changing to a new router improved it significantly for me.

I would recommend you get something like this... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-105-BE

We've sold loads of these as they are good routers, the price is amazing and the belkin routers are one of the best around.

Trust me ;)
