Hey All :D

I have been recieving lag spikes in games for almost a year now and has been really ticking me off. Every few minuites i will get a "connecyion interrupted" for a few seconds and by that time i am usually killed. i was told that i could have been my motherboard because it was realy cheap. I get a new motherboard and still the same problem. I get a new USB network adapter and still the same problem. Both motherboards work fine on a wired connection. My brother has an xbox 360 wireless and he said he never recieves lag spikes!

what is it about my computer tht is giving me theses spikes in games, it happened in windows xp and windows vista!!
since it all started happening i have reinstlaled windows over 10 times i would say!

Please if any one can help me

thanks

The Wireless adapter i have is Belkin F5D7050UK 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Network Adapt

and the router i have is Belkin F5D7230UK4 54Mbps Wireless Cable Router

thanks Ya'll for the support, i am at the moment downloading about 6 different drivers for it, vista ones and xp wll have to test them all one by one :D

btw i would use the manufactueres utility but i am yet to find one that works for vista i can onyl download the drivers from their site

i can only seen to get two sets of drivers installed and those ones were the ones on the disk that they gave me and the vista ones i downloaded. Neither of them had the option of just G. What drivers are you using "Random Guy"?

still no luck :( this is what i have everything set too:

Adhoc Wireless Mode: 802.11 B/G Mix
Auto Channel Select: Disable
Auto Reconnect Mode: Enable
B/G Protection: Auto
CAM when AC Power: Disable
Country Region 11A: Ch(36-165)
Country Region 11G:(Channel 1 -11)
Fragment Threshold: 2346
Frame Aggregation: Enable
IEEE802.11h: Disable
Local Admin MAC Network: (blank)
Network Type: 802.11 Ad Hoc
Power Saving Mode: CAM (Constantly Awake
Radion On/Off:Enable
RTS Threshold:2347
SSID:belkin54g
WMM Capable: Disable

I dont know what half these mean but thats what all my things are set to

any ideas on what to do?

BTW

Driver Provider: Belkin
Driver Date: 02/08/2005
Driver Vertsion 1.0.0.0
Driver Signer: not digitally signed

this is the only driver i can get working that lets me have all the options above, when i use the vista drivers i only get 4 options to change :S

Okay will check - got another problem to deal with atm tho -- cant even connect to the internet - i enter my password and either get "cant connect (timed out)" or your password is incorrect (which it isnt) GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
im pretty sure the SSID is correct anyway i will change the ssid and then try if i can even connect now
i will try and find the same drivers as you also

im starting to think there is a problem with my router since it is rejecting my password when its correct :S and even why i try to log into ym router from "192.168.2.1" i enter my password and it says its incorrect - after about the 10th try i can get into the routers config utility

it could be the WLAN Service that is constantly trying to find a new connection ever 60 seconds or so - if i could find another utility like belkins ones that supported vista then i would be fine
