Lag when others use the connection

Hi

I've got a Netgear DG834GT router and recently I've got back into playing BF2, the problem is though that there are 2 other computers in the house that also share the 8mbit connection (1 other ethernet, 1 wifi). During gameplay tonight I was noticing big ping spikes and after testing it looks like it is when others are browsing the net, is there anyway with this router, to give priority to traffic to my IP?, or make HTTP lower priority perhaps?. If not please can someone recommend a better router for this?, or do I need to get my own bloody phone line!!.

(I've downloaded the DGteam firmware but can't see any options that help..)

You could install Netlimiter on the other machines and limit their bandwidth.

Check out Tomato firmware. Plenty of threads on it.

Thanks, I installed netlimiter on the other 2 computers and now the ping spikes are either small or non existent.
