laggy quad core.

im getting lagg when doin simple things like clicking start (takes a few seconds to load) and simply right clicking...

I do connect really fast to servers in cod4 etc. but some of the simple things. +its slowed down abit when connecting to other games. also when i open an internet page it takes AGES to load sometimes. is this to do with the cpu or internet speed? but its slow as hell either way

am i jus impatient? or is sumit rong.

sounds more like HDD issue

Have you got that search thing enabled, try disabling it

something about "indexing to allow faster searches"

+1 for the hard drive fault. Also did you reinstall the OS when fitted the new processor?

i have this same problem im on q6600+p5k and i have since found out that becuse i have an ide hdd for my os and sata for the rest the jmircon driver on standerd microsoft drivers make sthe quad feel slow to respond

but if i have it on asus drivers my sound stutters/lags
i have been told fiting a s/c is the best way to fix this
