Laing D5 Vario problem

Unbelievably I've managed to bork my D5 while adjusting the speed. It now just zings along constantly at well above maximum revs. Turning it down to a lower setting has no affect. Anyone else had this problem with the D5 before?

i had a broken adjuster when mine arrived

open it up and see if it's actually attached to the potentiometer

It does feel loose when adjusting. ill drain the loop and check tomorrow. is it easy to open it up?

if you don't have to, don't drain. i can flip mine out, use a thin screwdriver and prise the back off, it comes off no problem

There was a thread on xs about the red dial snapping on its shaft whan trying to adjust the speed, will try to find it for you if you havn't already found it by searching

OK, after flipping the cover off the red adjuster had indeed snapped off from the potentiometer. I can still adjust the speed with the help of a thin screwdriver although the potentiometer doesnt look like its made to withstand much prodding so will have to replace the pump in the near future just to be safe.

mine broke before i got it, and i still use a screw driver to adjust it to this day. the pump is 2 1/2 years old, and still going strong.

don't worry about it, just use the screw driver to set the speed, pop the top back on and leave it be
