Laing DDC 18w Revision 3.25

The 18W ddc draws 18W, that'll burn out most motherboard headers. Do not use a molex to 3 pin connector with this.

It comes with a molex connector, which goes to the psu to provide power. It also has a standard 3 pin fan connector but with only one wire, this goes to the motherboard to report pump rpm if you want it to. This one is not for power.

I'd just leave it unplugged personally, it's useful for monitoring for pump failure

double checked under pump its 18w,reason i ask is this thing dont power up everytime and when does it takes a long time,i see it move slighty then stop then after a bit it goes, ust wondering where it should be plugged in

well what ever it was its working again stripped it down refilled now its working, like i did before, its connected to psu anyway via a molex adapter

Strange. 3 wires does suggest it expects power from that cable. Good call on connecting it to the psu, I'd be very worried running it off a motherboard header. How goes the rest of the water cooling?

its going ok jon i post build log soon just off on my hols for 10days so really wont be doing much else till then, yeah i had connected to the psu through a molex converter,im not really happy with the pump/res mate,it works but takes to long in my eyes to kick in,the cpu ect gets a bit hot by the time it gets going tho, might just look for another one,one i can fill two dvd trays with any idea's just in case

This delayed start thing I think is normal. My 10W and 18W both take about 2-3 seconds to actually start pumping from switch on. How long a delay are you experiencing there?

Mine pauses for a little bit too before it starts, longer than Bubo's I think. Perhaps 6 seconds. Ive not noticed the cpu heating up at all though, the heat capacity of the block and water is more than enough to cope with an idling processor for a couple of seconds.

I think I'm going to try turning the pump off while it's running to see what happens to temperatures, turning the fans off doesn't seem to matter on idle but I think the pump will do
