I am planning on testing my Laing DDC pump tomorrow (for leaks as I have had some problems with it). I have read that you must have at least one block installed for the pump or it may become damaged, but I want to run the pump with the res feeding directly to the pump which then spurts water into the sink. If I did this I am assuming I would need to provide some resistance for the pump, so would kinking the tube enough so water can pass, but there is resistance provide enough resistance?

Cheers

As long as it's full of water I'm pretty certain it'll be fine. I set up three in a row squirting water into a bucket to try to work out which ones were performing best a while back, I don't think it's hurt any of them.

By all means stick a waterblock downstream of the pump if you like though, it wont add much time to the test.
