Lake Como

We're currently making plans for our wedding next summer and I think we've settled on a honeymoon destination but I just wanted to check if anyone else has been there and get a second opinion.

Lake Como in northern Italy, should be mid-late August. It'll be a 5* hotel and we'll mainly just be lazing around the hotel (if we leave the room

) so we're not too fussed about much other than the views and a lack of small children

Lake Como is lovely - we stayed in a small hotel in Como itself. Lots of very nice little towns and villages and stunning scenery.

Bear in mind at that time of year it will be very busy and quite humid. I'll see if I can find some pics from when we went.

What's the name of the hotel you are planning on staying in? I've been to Lake Como many times due to work and love it there. Have also stayed in a 5* hotel out there and it was amazing. During the summer the area will be brilliant but hot, if you get the chance take a boat ride around the lake it really is something. Although be warned, due to the location of the lake, it has it's own micro climate, so tends to ignore what the weather should be.

We've been looking at the Grand Hotel Serbelloni in Bellagio, would mean buying a new suit or 2 though

If you want to stay in Belaggio book well in advance - we struggled to find anywhere and had to go for Como itself which was our second choice.

Gotta love those pics!

We're not going until next August so we can't book it until October/November but we'll be booking as soon as they'll let us. I'll be driving down there so we'll only need to book the room, no flights etc
