Hey All,

I'm looking to go for a drive out to the Lake District with a few friends, likely 3-4 cars. We're looking for somewhere to camp for two nights (Arrive Friday Afternoon, leave Sunday). It'd be sometime in the middle/back end of August.

Only issue I'm having is I can't seem to find any campsites that allow groups, would be 4-5 people tops.

Anyone have any suggestions? A lot seem to only allow 1 car too.

Thanks for the replies guys :)

Bays Brown Campsite is looking to be the one so far, Low Wray seems fully booked.

We're just looking for somewhere to chill and have a couple of drinks - no loud music or shouting etc.

For the cost I've been unable to beat it in the lakes, there are nicer sites out there but most charge silly fees for a camping pitch with no power (national trust sites are a joke fees wise imo) There's a lovely pub and local shop (Which sells everything you could need, the Mrs loves the Duck eggs) in the village about a 10min walk along a foot path, Little stream for a dip on site if it's real hot. We would be going ourselves this year but have a 2 week old baby stopping us lol.

Sounds perfect for us :) Not bothered about electric or anything, just want a basic spot that's gonna be safe to camp in with a few cars.

Congrats on the baby :)

Just wild camp, as long as you're sensible about where you pitch your stuff (out of sight) and what you do there (no fires, loud music etc) no one will bother you.

Wild Camping is out of the picture unfortunately, I wouldn't feel confident leaving tents/cars somewhere random throughout the day whilst we're out and about.
