Myself and the missus are going Xmas shopping next weekend.

Which is better for xmas shopping, Lakeside or Bluewater?

cheers :)

Bluewater imo - but im Kent born and breed :)

Depends what shops your looking for too although if you are coming from Dorset Bluewater is easier to get to anyway :)

coming from Hants, but the same kind of route :)

Perhaps visit both, they are only across the Thames from each other. Be warned though - the roads around BW are chaos this time of year, especially with the major road works on the M25/A2 junction. And the Dartford Crossing is always busy.

Bluewater's better for clothing, especially if you're looking for the designer-type stuff.

Lakeside has got the retail parks next to it, so if you're after electrical goods or sporting stuff (or IKEA  ) then you'd be better off there.

Lakeside by miles if you want all the Chain stores like argos, debs etc. Bluewater is more independant and full of overpriced prada handbags.

I despise both of these places, cathedrals of consumption :p

As has already been said, they are very very different places. If you have a lot of high maintenance women and gadget obsessed men to buy for go to Bluewater. If you want standard family christmas shopping go to Lakeside.

Bluewater is nicer (although Lakeside has improved a lot since the refurb), but doesn't have the retail park, so no Ikea (although that mings) or Ilva.

If you're thinking of going at the weekend, my advice would be - don't bother. Both are hell on earth at the moment. I live 5 mins from Lakeside and the traffic is just ridiculous.

Another vote for Bluewater. Saves paying a nugget for the tolls and there is a nice Sushi place in one of the open areas.

Bluewater for me, but don't go at the weekend and try to get there early.

Bluewater's a bit of a bitch at weekends this time of year. But then again, I guess most of the main shopping centres are. But don't expect to get lunch there or anything :D

There's barely 10 miles between them and parking is free at both. My advice (and my plan when I used to live that way), get up early, do both :)

As others have said, they provide a different shopping experience.

Oh, and go in the week, not at weekends.

Blue water as John Lewis and it seems a little more civilised.. If you can call going shopping civilised anmore.

Lakeside a a pain to get to and the Mall is poorly layed out.

Bluewater for the win..

I hate shopping :D
