Lamb shanks - anyone like them?

I confess I've only got around to them over the past year or two but I think they great!
Done in a slow cooker, the meat just drops off the bone and cooked in wine etc, absolutely delicious when served with mashed potato!

I'd love to hear of interesting recipes for them!
 
What's wrong with that? A shank of lamb is cheap meat and it's delicious stewed. You don't have to boil the pants out of it either so it keeps the texture.

True...but surely the point is that it's cooked on the bone and is part of a recipe for that particular part of the animal!

It just seems a lot of work when it can be cooked on the bone...but there again, each to their own and to be fair, I love lamb, no matter how it's cooked!:)
