The left hand side is fine, but furthest to the right and middle the light bleeds through

I have to RMA it, I waited so long for it too.

Also on a side note, if anyone installed it on a Corsair 650D how did you secure it?

When installing mine I could insert one screw onto the side securing it to the case, but on the other side the clamps were in the way and these cannot be removed.

If you go to the link and select the inside view, it is the top right corner clamps which cannot be removed.

Yeah I had the same problem when installing as you did. The clamp sort of secures it, but it is still loose and easily displaced.

There is a little metal spring which is part of the clamp, which when pushed in, secures the drive which is in the bay. But because the controller isn't full size, this spring isn't pressed and so it leaves the controller insecure.

If anyone else has any bright ideas, id be grateful to know :)

Taken from the Corsair Forums. I'm going to give it a bash.

Is it possible to remove the toolless clips on the 5.25 drive bays. They simply do not work for my res and fan controller.

Thanks

Well, just had a play around with it, and the good news is they do come off quite easily.

On the clip itself, in the middle, there is a small metal pin. Push down on the metal pin with a very small screwdriver while applying some outwards pressure on the clip and it will simply pop off

The above worked. It's not a metal pin that extracts all the way out, so be careful. So just push it up a bit and it will release the entire clip from the case.

Edit - you beat me to it.

Whilst I'm waiting for the replacement fan controller, I've ordered some parts to make changing the colours and Fahrenheit to Celsius functions work via a switch.

The switch will be housed where the 650D's stock fan controller would have been.

I could have made it a hell of a lot simpler by doing the mod in the video and used some carbon fibre jet pilot switches but it's just too OTT for my taste. :D

Parts arrived bar the fan controller which should be here tomorrow. I would have braided and done the other ends but the paracord which I used started fraying and looked ****, so I've got some black high density braid on the way. If that frays too, then I will leave the wires showing in their plastic sleeving.

I just hope it works

It worked. :) Still waiting on the braid so I'll house the switch properly once it arrives.

The voltages and fan speed fluctuate all the time is this normal? I would have expected it to remain at a constant reading to what ever I set it to from the controller.

Also the LED bleed is still there and I can't be bothered changing it again. If you look dead straight it's not noticeable, but as soon as you look from a different angle it shows :(

Wheyyy! Very nice!

My voltages and speeds fluctuate all the time on three of my dials. The other one is pretty stable. And when one of my dials is turned up to full, it doesn't max out the fan. It is around 150RPM short.

I expected the controller to properly control the fan regulation. It can fluctuate as much as 150rpm +/- ; I'm going to check other forum reviews.

For some reason the holes on the controller aren't aligned properly to the case so in order to screw them in the controller needs to be pushed in a bit. As you can see in the pic it isn't sitting flush with the rest of the case.

I'll have to get the drill out and extend the holes in the case a bit to sort it. I'll be getting some scythe gentle typhoons 1850 fans too, but I'm hoping OCUK will have an offer on as their prices are nearly double than other known etailers.
