LAN connection problem

I've had a Netgear DG814 for a few years now, and LAN has worked flawlessy. I bought a Billion 7300A to replace it. My LAN was working fine, switched one computer on and the other saw it (shared directory, shortcut to the PC on the desktop)

Now with the Billion when I switch the desktop on I get a icon in the taskbar and I cannot browse the desktop from my HTPC. It was working so I know it's not a username/shared/privialage access problem. It's router configuration problem.

When I login I get this icon. When clicking on the shortcut on the other machine I cannot browse desktop shared path.

If I disable and re-enable the desktop network card it then picks it up and works as it should. Is there a setting in the router that I need to change? It looks quite complicated, far more configuarble than the DG814.

it means that its not geting an IP address or there is an IP conflict.

check the settings

start > run > type cmd > press enter > on command promt black screen type > ipconfig /all > press enter.

check the settings.
