I'm thinking this belongs here and not in Networking, but move it if necessary.

Here's my problem in a nutshell. Every 5 minutes or less my connectivity goes down to "limited" and "local only" instead of "local and internet". The only way to restore it is to restart the PC. I'm using an nvidia nforce networking controller. I think that's all part of nforce 4 but I'm not sure.

Does anyone else have this problem? It didn't do it for a while and it's only recently started. However, it has done it on every previous version of Vista I've tried, and it's putting me off buying the final product if I'm not sure I'll be able to use it without restarting every 5 minutes.

I've also got a Marvell Yukon ethernet port, which I just downloaded RC2 drivers for. That one simply never gets beyond a "local only" connection.

On both connections I've given myself a fixed IP, the gateway and DNS information is all correct. I've unchecked IP v6 incase that was the problem, which it wasn't. The router is definately working fine as an XP machine is able to use it with no problems.

I also have this problem on an brand new Asrock board with the model number "AM2NF6G-VSTA" on their website their slogan is "Experts in Windows Vista" lol.
