This rig is primarily for BF4. How does the build look? Should I change anything? Maybe go i5 instead and 16gb of ram?

MSI Radeon R9 290 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £349.99

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £239.99

MSI Z87I Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ITX Motherboard £104.99

Corsair RM Series RM 750 '80+ Gold' 750W Power Supply (CP-9020055-UK) £99.95

Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (CMY8GX3M2A1866C9) £73.99

Corsair Obsidian Series 250D Mini ITX Compact Gaming Case - Black (CC-9011047-WW) £71.99

Corsair Hydro H80i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler £71.99

* Total : £1,022.48

Wanting to order over next few days so I'm probably going to have to change the case.
Thinking about the "BitFenix Prodigy"

any input appreciated! :D

Looks a pretty nice build, id stay with the i7 if its within the budget. Know point in dropping to a i5 just to go from 8gb memory to 16gb (8gb is plenty for gaming anyway).

Case wise just pick something easily portable as its a lan system.

(I might be more inclined to go for a different mobo though)

I've done two builds with that Z87I recently and no issues (except for a pair of dodgy RAM sticks). However, I used the non-overclockable i7-4770 (and MSI Gaming GTX 770). Then again, you'll have liquid cooler to even things out.

The AS Rock you linked to has more power phases, partly explaining the higher price. Also an 8-pin ATX 12v instead of the 4-pin on the Z87I. There's an in-depth review somewhere on the internet comparing five ITX mobos including those two. Try searching for Z87I v Z87E, for example.

Right now, I'd probably go for this one though (also has 8-pin ATX 12v and the same power phases as the As Rock Z87E):

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI Z87I Gaming AC Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ITX Motherboard £134.99
Total : £143.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

Kmodo, one other thing - the Corsair RM750 is too big for the Prodigy at 180mm depth. Max PSU depth for Prodigys, Phenoms and Colossus Minis is 160mm.

That and the fact that there have been a lot of bad things said about the newest Corsair PSU's since release. They have most certainly lost their way Corsair...

Noted and thanks! I swap it for a smaller non Corsair PSU!

Five Z87 Motherboards For Your Mini-ITX Build, Reviewed

Doesn't include the MSI Gaming AC though. But it's definitely superior to the plain Z87I which got good price-to-performance results in the review.

I'll give it a read :)
