Lan Party game suggestions

I run monthly LAN parties for about 16 players and I'm trying to come up with a new game to play. Currently we play BF2 and track mania nations. We have previous played IL2 and Farcry.

I was looking for something that could be played co-op against the computer, e.g. alien vs predator skirmish levels. Unfortunately avp doesn't work with windows xp as far as I can tell. I was wondering about starship troopers (sounds a buggy mess

) or x-wing vs tie-fighter (hard to get enough copies of the game :confused:

).

Any ideas would be welcome.

Don't suppose you have a link to this, seems to be lots of variations.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look into it. I see there is a mod called fraghouse invasion mod v4 which adds in new maps designed for this type of play. So I'll try that as well. UT2003/4 is good as we used to play it anyway.

Any other games?

This is why we dropped UT2004 in the first place, a single player could dominate the game and basically make it pointless for the rest.

Yes, I know the others should practice!

Anyway I'll check out the invasion and unwheel mods as they look like good possibilities. Certainly something that is a bit quicker than BF2 would be welcome.

I would love to do a strategy network sessions as well but it's hard to get enough players that know the same game. Although DEFCON is looking like a good chance in the future.

Right. Unwheel and Invasion mods look good, and I'll have a look at the free games suggested as well. Yes, I'm tight as well!
