Hey all,

I got an annoying problem here...

my network seems to limit its bandwidth to about 1.8-2.2 megabytes for no reason

i have the following setup

1. cable router -- asus rt n11 router

2. asus rt n 11 router --
port 1: 10.6.8 mac mini (file server, htpc, time machine over lan)

port 2: network switch connecting 2 pcs (running xp and xp/win7)

port 3: xbox360

port 4: 85mbps home plug connecting to a router running as gateway (connected through lan, not wan) : 10.6.8 imac & xbox360 slim

wirelessly connecting 1 laptop and 3-4 hand helds

i hope thats easy to read :s

ive reset everything many times

ive changed ports and it went back to full speed once but its back to normal now

the only thing i have not tried is removing the home plug from the set up (i really dont like using wifi for gaming or shopping/banking etc) but i dont think thats the problem as i have had only the mac mini and one of the pcs doing a test transfer and the problems the same (ive done pc-pc, pc-mac & mac-mac transfers with them all having the same cap.

not sure what else to try

any help is appreciated :)

edit: forgot to mention internet bandwidth seems to be unaffected... so i can push about 4-4.5megabytes through

lil update...

after much googling it seems some people are having the same issue as me who have the virgin media super hub.

i called up their support line and as usual all they kept saying was your signal looks fine whats the issue? lol

anyways has anyone else on vm noticed poor network speeds (lan only)?
