Finally decided on a lancer evo VI in cyprus, and gonna spend around £12,000 cyp on it.. (0.85 cyp to 1 £ so around £14,000)

so anything to look out for on these cars? any problem areas?

Will be a japanese import (thats all they have there) but may be able to scrape a few more quid up if the right car or a VII comes up...

Had a lift in one of these for the first time today. They are *ridiculously* quick. Probably the first car that's ever felt so much like a rollercoaster in a straight line for me. I bought a 330d this week, and that feels slow in comparison.

So good choice, sorry I can't be anymore helpful :D

Thanks for the reply, yeah thats why I want one, need something (that feels) quick for everyday use as the 7 is no good in cyprus car parks etc... (ground clearence)...

Its never gonna feel as fast as the 7, but for it to feel good enough will do me...

Considered the subaru impreza and forester as well, but the mitsi has always had my heart..

:D

Have to agree with Nick here - Had a ride in a m8s lightly modded Evo6 the other week and it absolutely blew.me.away! Speed to 70-80 was awesome and I drive a 280bhp MR2 Turbo ffs! Seriously considering one as my next motor

well glad to see there arent any issues...

I assume the turbo smoking is always an issue on a turbo car so will check that..

Oil changes are every 3000km in cyprus, so service hisory will be important...

ah life is good

:D

I had no idea you were in Kypros! I spend a lot of my life there (I'm part Cypriot you see), we'll have to catch up for a Keo! Careful with the astynomia they are clamping down on speeding and seatbelt wearing. :) Still you have to drive like a greek and slightly ignore the rules of the road and you don't get stopped it's brilliant! :D

They do love their Jap cars over there - especially along the main drag of Larnaca  A bit too much showing off at times though.

Going up to the mountains will be good fun with an Evo - for a start the air will be cooler.

Hey freefaller, well if you are coming to lefkosia, then look me up...

Lots of "fast and furious" guys out in cyprus now, mountain roads are what my 7 is for, but the 7 cant take my kids to the shops, or anything back from the shops as well... and is no fun for a M-way drive to pafos to see my mates...

I always wear a belt, since I was nearly killed in a car that hit a lamp post at 70mph...

If you do come this way, we can have a few beers, VRB's, etc and I can always put u up as I have plenty of spare rooms (and a pool for the summer)...

:D

Good choice mate, afew years back went for a spin in a mates tuned evo 6.. it was the first car that actually 'scared' me, I was smiling for the rest of the day :D
