landrover spec

Hi, my dad is branching out into landscaping because of the crunch so he needs to get himself some sort of car for doing it in, he's using his volvo xc90 at the moment but wants some sort of landrover or similar pickup to use.
his budget is 3k

any ideas please?

What about a van? Free advertising space on the side and he won't have to lift items quite so high to get them in the back

cheers, how good is fuel economy on these sorts of things?

If you're concerned about fuel economy, don't even think of getting a Landy. £3k might get you an early 90/110, or a dog of a Defender. It could get a very decent SIII Landy, but that will be very slow, unrefined and thirsty.
