Hi all

I remember ages ago when I had my old MacBook, someone posted an app on here that got rid of all the language files on your system that you didn't need

If I remember it freed up a load of space, would love to get hold of it again

Anyone remember what it was called?

Cheers

I don't suggest using Monolingual, there have been a lot of reported problems with it as you'll see if you google it.

XSlimmer doesn't recover as much space but it's a lot safer.

I disagree with that because it's not just about hard drive space. For example, iTunes is 135Mb, but XSlimmed, it's 35Mb. Which is going to be faster to load?

iTunes.app is a 1xx MB directory, not a file. So I'd guess at it only loading what is needed from within that directory, not the whole thing.

Don't you think Apple will have optimized the application loading procedure already?

Well I ran Monolingual....before seeing these replies :(

No issues yet and just had to update Office 2008 so fingers crossed I got away with it

Providing you only installed English language / proofing tools in Office I can't see it being a problem when updating.
