Hi all,
Wasnt sure whether to put this in the sound forum but here goes...

Got a lp expert mobo with spdif out and a creative inspire 5.1 5500 system. The surround sound has coaxial input, but simply connecting the spdif out from the mobo doesnt do anything. Any ideas? Thanks

Edit: I have the karajan module installed

I have same prob.. well I get 2 channel sound thats it..!! Have tried all combos, but nothing more than front left/right speakers... really annoying!!

The info in manual says something about an optical spdif connection.. but I dont know where, or how to get hold of the connection bracket/unit....

And you won't get any more than 2 channel unless you're playing an AC3 soundtrack (Dolby Digital) or DTS with decoding on the soundcard disabled.

hmm not sure if this is the same, but for me to use the optical out....u need to install
AUD Realtek A3751 drivers
else change jumper on mobo for the coax out

True.. I had just forget that one of my old pcs, I had a dedicated sound card, and used to listen to audio through the 5 speakers, but I think it was the card upmixing the audio to 5.1/6 channels...

Although this still doesnt explain why the surround sound demo does not work, despite having spdif set to digital output.. surely this should work when set to 6 speakers...???

Where is the optical out on the Dfi Expert...?? Theres a pin connector on the mobo.. but no interface for it..???
