lap a CPU the same way you would a CPU cooler ?

Hi i notice in guides it says to lap CPU coolers by putting paper on glass and running it across about 10 times then turning it.

Do you do it the exact same way for the actual CPU ??

Yes and the good thing is lapping a CPU is way easier then lapping a HSF.

I actually started off lapping using 400 grit wet and dry and did a circular motion, then rotate 90 and circular again etc.. Then when I moved onto the 1200 grit I did the up/down, rotate 90, up/down, rotate 90 etc.. When I was ready to finish I then did up/down, rotate 180.
