I think he means it looks too shiny to be a simple lapping. If you're lapping properly, all the way down to the tiny grits you might get it that shiny (no personal experience, so I dunno). silentphoenix is implying that you've added something else to polish it up, which is going to make it worse at transferring heat. Ideally, lap away metal until it's as smooth as possible (not necessarily shiny) and add tec to fill any remaining space.silentphoenix said:IS that without being lapped?
