Lap top / windows help

Hi guys.

Ive just been given my friends laptop to have a look at for her.

Its stuck in an automatic loop repair by the looks of it and I'm at a loss as what to do.

Ive used automatic repair, no luck.
Start up repair is not working,
Ive tried restore to a previous version of windows, it wont do it.
Ive tried to uninstall latest updates, on the quality of life update it says it cant complete as its in use by windows.
I tried system restore to a previous version, it went through the process and then the same automatic repair screen appeared.
I tried system reset keeping files it says it cant be completed.

Any ideas as to what else I can try? She has all the bookkeeping and wage files on the laptop as its her small business machine.

Any help out there?

1) are you doing the repair from a fresh win10 usb?
2) copy off the stuff and then rebuild

Does it give you any bsod error messages or does it just hang and reboot?

did you try to boot in safe mode? I cannot see that you tried this.

If all else fails take the drive out and get what you need from it then rebuild.

Use a live Linux USB stick or CD, such as Parted Magic, which can be found on Ultimate Boot CD, to copy their files somewhere safe. With that done, I'd reinstall Windows.

Thanks for the help guys. What a pain this has been. Finally got sorted. Took the option of adding an ssd to it and rebuilding windows and transferred on all the data she needed. Shes happy, fixed machine and much quicker
