Lappers - same as5 application method???

Ok..... so good few for the clingfinger method but still some for the normal method... Ah well lol, guess ill have to experiment myself. Nice to see my face in the hs base :) gonna lap the cpu tonight. Bit easier than i thought this lapping lark too.

mirror finish is bling but totally pointless...

I lap to flat copper and then spreading my my old fuel card does it..

its middle class spreading don't you know ;)

The finish on the CPU pictured above is spot-on, as Matt says there really is no point in taking it any further but I understand why you did, I too lapped my stuff to a mirror finish when I first started, nothing wrong with that but I found the extra effort didn't reward me with lower temps . . . still I got to take the customary photo of some random object reflected in my mirror like heatsink! :p

Anyone got a pic of the credit card method? how much do you scrape off? how thick a layer do you leave on the proc? thanks.
 
? Again, does anyone have a link for the credit card method? I assume that you keep going back and forward until it's even?
