I have lapped my E6600 cpu to an almost mirror shine is there any type of polish or scratch remover I can use to finnish it off to get that perfect mirror shine, Any help really appreciated thank you.
Regards, Wayne..

I personally wouldnt bother with polish, a mirror finish isnt important tbh, the cpu is gonna be covered anyway, flatness is the most important thing to ensure when lapping.

I have it spot on flat put a stanley blade across it from corner to corner 4 ways and from side to side all the way along it and it was perfect, it is almost a mirror finnish except for just a half dozen minute scratches wich you can hardly see, I just wanted to say it was a perfect mirror finnish lol, Thanks for the advice, Cheers..;)

When i lapped my q6600 i went up to 2000 grit, there were still a few iny marks but it was as flat as a pancake, what were your load temps like before?, and let us know the difference after lapping, as an example i dropped 12c of my quad in conjunction with a lapped TRUE black.

You dont need a mirror finish and actually some polishes will leave residue that will reduce the efficiency of your lap, but I know its nice to have after all that hard effort.

Years ago I used Mothers Mag & Aluminium Polish. It was hard to find but widespread in USA (dunno if this has changed). Works very well.

But like I said, not necessary!
