Lapping Q6600 + Heatsink!

So ive thought about Lapping my Q6600 and my Asus Silent Knight 2 Cpu cooler! ,From what ive read, other people doing it on other forums,The results sometimes are as big as 10c drop in temps....

Anyone else Lapped a CPU in here?

I was thinking of buying the Lapping Kit,just so i have everything thats needed...And then buying some Shin-Estu thermal paste.

Now i read on one site that when you lap you shouldnt go around in circles with the cpu...yet this vid he says you go round in circles...

When I lapped my Q6600 I think I gained 3-5c max.

Is it worth it? sure, but the gains are not massive.

I bought a lapped one on here for £65. Currently sat at 3.6ghz with an H50 cooler. Max temps are 68c after 12 hour prime95.

I sold my other one for £80 that I couldnt get past 3.2ghz. The one I sold also had a slightly higher VID
