Lapping your C2D

Who has done this? Could you post idle and load temps of before and after and maybe some pics? Im thinking of starting with 500grain and moving upto 2500? will i see much of a decrease in temps?! some websites clain 10*C! if i cld knock 10*c off my 2.4 @ 3.2 id be laughing (and overclocking the fuxer more) its at 63ish load atm (TAT)

The temperature improvements the lapper sees are entirely based on the condition of the IHS before the lapping operation. If yours has poor surface finish due to scratches, convexness, or concaveness it would help quite a bit. If yours is already fine it won't do much.

Sweet good find, im sure my c2d IHS isnt flat, maybe im just paranoid only one way to find out following that guide as soon as find my AS5 lolz

knocked about 2-3C off mine when I did it, only went upto 1200.
