Lapping

Hello im thinking of lapping my cpu however after a look around ocuk i dont see any lapping kits, would i be aswell just to go to B&Q and get the stuff there or is there any good kits that i could just order?

You can buy lapping kits, or maybe cheaper to look what grades of paper they use and buy them from a hardware store.

Get them from your local cheap motor parts place.

Depends how much you need to skim off, I just used 400 (or was it 600?) and 1200 grit, 400 to get the IHS almost levelled out and then the 1200 to finish off getting the last of the nickel sanded off.

I used a circular motion for the 400 grit rotating 90 degrees every few minutes and then just up and down for the 1200 again rotating every few minutes.
