My Sony S series died. Wont power on, nothing nadda. Power brick appears working, so i think it mobo/cpu has bitten it. For a 3 month lappy, i'm not pleased:mad:

Has anyone needed to get their lappy fixed before, and how long will something like this take? Ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......

I take it is going to be repaired under warranty? If so, Sony are not to bad in terms of turnaround time. You are looking at least a week without it at most from experience.

I can live with a week, thing is, i'm going out of the country in 3 weeks, and wont be back for afew months.... if it isnt with me before i leave, it is going to be "messy" for me..... yea, it's still under warranty

to think i actually deluded myself into paying the "sony tax" because i thought they had better build quality.... this is my most expensive lappy... even my 200 quid medion is still working without a hitch.....

just an update, got it back, mobo was fried...

total turnaround for them was 5 days, so pretty decent.... will see how it goes, it better not die again............
