Laptop £1200 Budget

I'm looking for a new laptop and have no idea about them.

With a budget of £1200 in mind what should I buy this is more of a desktop replacement machine rather then a light weight slim laptop.

I do play games and if the laptop can support that then all the better.

HP Pavilion Media Center dv9088ea Entertainment Notebook PC can be had for £1200.

Does anyone have one. Are HP laptops any good?
